The Worst Word in the English Language

“Bimonthly” is a terrible word.

The dictionary literally defines it as: “twice a month or every two months”.

Why is a word allowed such ambiguity? It’s commonly used to plan some recurring event, so imagine how much confusion it can create if one person means bimonthly as in twice a month and the other interprets it as in every two months.
